Simple Ways To Increase Traffic

The life blood of a successful internet site is traffic. Without traffic you have no chance of making a sale, and considering that maybe only 1-5% of visitors will actually buy anything, you have a hard slog ahead.

So what are the best ways to get that much-needed traffic?

Use of SEO

Optimizing a website properly by effective use of keywords will attract “organic” traffic.  That is traffic brought from searches directly entered into a browser. Careful keyword research is essential, and especially the use of “long tail” keywords. Google offers a free tool for this research, or you can use Market Samurai or Micro Niche Finder which you must purchase. Either is a good investment if you are serious about internet marketing.

Article writing:

By writing articles pertinent to your products and services and posting them on article sites, people can click through after they have read your article. Use a service that will submit your articles to many popular article sites at once and you will gain a lot of links and traffic.

Forums & Blogs

Find forums and blogs relevant to your product and watch what people are asking.  Post useful comments and you can have a link that goes through to your website. You can also get useful ideas for articles that way.

Social media sites

Having a page solely for your business on Facebook can bring lots of traffic; keep it separate from your personal page. You can get links from Twitter and if you feel adventurous with a camera make some videos and post them on YouTube – a great way of getting traffic and for getting your face and product recognized.

Don’t forget to put a link to your website in the signature at the bottom of your emails.

Business Cards

Any printed matter should have your website on it. You are bound to talk to people, always have a supply of business cards with your web address to hand out.
