Minor Adjustments to Emails can bring Major Results
Increase Response from your Subscribers
If you want to increase the amount of response and engagement you have from your subscribers one way is to test the emails that you send out to see which are the most effective. This can be done simply by what’s called A/B testing and most email autoresponder services make this simple to do. You split your list into two and send one version of an email to the A list and another to those on the B list and monitor the responses.
By doing this you should be able to discover the formula for sending successful emails. Once you eventually find that formula then you can confidently send out emails to your entire list knowing that you will get successful responses.
What Will You Need to Change?
Very often this will simply be the title of the email – it must be written in a way that will entice the recipient to open it. Another thing to test will be your call to action, just by changing a couple of words you may find that one way of wording your call to action will get a greater response than another.
Always use personal touches wherever possible and that means including a photograph and your real name – these are part of self branding and will build trust.
One thing that’s very important is pricing and you must always be aware of what your competitors are doing. There’s nothing to stop you from subscribing and getting on their email lists to see exactly what they’re doing. Your prices have to be competitive.
Building an email list is essential, whether you have a bricks and mortar business with a website or an online enterprise. Getting people to sign up is much easier when you offer discounts, coupons and free information, but just make sure you live up to your promises.
More Split Testing
A/B testing is also a way of finding out which kind of landing page attracts the most responses. Selling online involves a lot of testing and monitoring. Always be aware of what your target audience is looking for and offer them relevant products. Minor adjustments will often be necessary. If you’re always aware of what your subscribers are looking for and what your competition is doing, that should keep you on the leading edge.
Even testing your sign up box on your website can bring better results. If you’re getting hundreds of visitors to your site every day but very few are signing up then perhaps you need to redesign your sign-up box or move it to somewhere more prominent on your web pages. You may simply need to re-word your call to action by telling potential subscribers what they can expect if they sign up for your email list. Mention that people who subscribe will get exclusive offers, coupons and freebies and it should increase your subscriber rate.
No Spamming, Please!
When an email marketing campaign is constructed the right way internet business owners can expect a steady stream of income. The secret is not to bombard subscribers with too many emails, keep the content relevant, interesting and helpful and always add your own personal touch. If there’s one major reason I unsubscribe from email lists it’s because every time I get an email it’s obviously for the purpose of selling me something! The trick is to find a balance. Send out three or four informational emails and the next one you can promote something – but make sure you know that product. I’ve had emails daily from internet marketers that contain affiliate links to products that the sender could not possibly have used and tested and that’s the quickest way of losing my trust.
